| Wide Placement |
Who should make wide placement slabs?Only qualified floor finishing contractors. What is the definition of a wide placement slab? The definition of wide placement varies greatly depending on the numerous factors and circumstances unique to each job. The important thing to bear in mind is that as the concrete slump decreases and the specified F L numbers and/or ambient temperatures increase, the width of the pour must decrease. The goal is to select a placement method as wide as practical considering particular requirements and conditions each day. This selection of a wide placement allows the contractor to maximize the benefits of his resources, allows for more timely installation of the slab and reduces construction joints and the problems associated with them. Why should the wide placement method of slab placement be utilized by a floor contractor?
Much planning generally precedes successful slab installations. The least productive time frame during the day is usually during starting and stopping of the slab placement. By utilizing wide placements you will increase daily production and reduce total man hours. Due to its high degree of maneuverability and the ability to strike off up to 240 square feet of low slump concrete per minute, the S-240 Laser Screed is a natural answer for making the wide placement method of slab installation practical and efficient while giving the opportunity for higher "F" numbers! |
