Customer Support Engineer (CSE)
Position Description:
The Customer Support Engineer must portray a positive image of the company at all times. Effective customer service is paramount. This position provides frontline support to Somero customers on an on going basis, requiring on site appointments with customers. This individual deals with the troubleshooting, actual demonstration and customer training processes for Somero while also suggesting ways to improve product performance based on knowledge and experience.

Principal Accountabilities:
- Maintain current customer relationships by following the customer contact process.
- Orchestrate successful demonstration and training of Somero products.
- Responsible for following all construction site safety policies and practices.
- Internal and External troubleshooting methods and practices for customers experiencing problems in the field.
- Simple electrical troubleshooting, assembly and installation.
- On site field servicing, including warranty and non warranty issues.
- Phone trouble shooting with customers to solve basic machine warranty and non warranty issues.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, technical specifications and procedure manuals.
- On site training of new and previous customers and their support teams.
- Must be able to plan and execute activities within established operating budget.
- Submit timely expense reports, services reports and part requests.
- Follow and execute company stock procedures.
- Good communicator, able to conduct effective training sessions, interface with business owners and lead a concrete placement crew.
- Conduct Pre delivery inspections and complete appropriate documentation.
Education/Experience Requirements:
- Ideally Qualified to NVQ Level IV or equivalent or min 5 years experience of a Mechanical/ Technical / Electrical nature.
- Good articulation and communication skills
- Mechanical / Engineering industry experience and/or equivalent preferred.
- Valid Driving Licence
- Must be able to obtain a valid passport.
- Computer Literate

Territory Manager (TM)
Position Description:
The Territory Manager’s objective is to successfully promote, demonstrate, sell and perform end-user training for Somero’s small line products within a pre-determined territory and assist Regional Managers in efforts to sell large line products. The objectives are accomplished by making the most out of Somero’s training, business and sales practices and methodology. The TM will effectively work with other departments within Somero to maintain a satisfied customer.

Principal Accountabilities:
- Cultivate relationships with current customers and generate net-new business for other Small and Large line equipment.
- Coordinate, sell and execute all Small Line activity within sales region.
- Utilize the Somero 12 step selling approach when presenting Somero products.
- Establish Territory and Time Management methods to successfully accomplish territory objectives. (T.O.P.)
- Orchestrate, execute successful demonstrations using the Somero demo process.
- Work with the sales administrative department to properly develop customer’s proposals.
- Cultivate & nurture relationships with owners/operators and dealers to facilitate information flow.
- Conduct field training of all new owners within sales region
- Maintain customer records in GoldMine.
- Works collaboratively with FSP’s, dealers, and Regional Manager to maximize Somero representation.
- Ability to maintain and tow a full demo trailer within region
- Develop and execute direct marketing activities in region.
- Attend trade shows and company sales meetings as required by the RSM.
- Submit accurate monthly sales forecast and other reports as requested by management.
- Maintain and turn in timely, accurate reasonable expense reports.
- Communicate any needed information to affected departmental manager
- This is a travel job with as much as 80%-98% travel necessary to perform the job.
- Territory Manager must be able to plan and execute his own travel with ongoing consideration for operating within a pre-established budget.
- This is a field-oriented job. Candidates must be able to work carefully and safely on construction sites that are controlled and managed by customers and prospects.
- Must be a good communicator, able to conduct effectively training sessions, interface with business owners, and lead a concrete placement crew.
- Must be able to understand technical and non-technical documents relating to operating, training, maintenance, and repair of the equipment.
- Knowledge of and adherence to the Somero Code of Business Conduct and Self-Governance Program.
Education / Experience:
- 3-5 Years direct sales experience.
- 2-4 Years construction industry experience and/or equivalent.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must have knowledge/experience towing a small enclosed trailer.
Working Conditions:

Field Support Professional
The Field Support Professional’s objective is to provide hand-on support for demonstrating/training all of Somero’s products. This also includes end-user field training. Coordinating through Somero’s remote sales team will be key to our objectives. The objectives are accomplished by making the most out of Somero’s training, business and sales practices and methodology. The F.S.P. will effectively work with other departments within Somero to maintain a satisfied customer.
Department
Sales - Reports to Regional Manager
Principal Accountabilities
The overall mission of the FSP is to bring about positive equipment experiences in the field. The core assignments are as follows:
- Coordinate and execute all product demonstrations within the service region
- Conduct field training of all new operators
- Cultivate relationships with all owners in the region and continually monitor their activity
- Cultivate & nurture relationships with operators to facilitate information flow
- Attend trade shows and company sales meetings as required by the RM
- Maintain customer records in GoldMine
- Report on field events and customer/operator feedback
- Develop and execute direct marketing activities in region.
- Assists Customer Service issues and repairs in the field
- Travel territory and work with Somero’s Territory Managers, dealers and Regional Managers to maximize Somero representation within territory
- Ability to execute small/large line demonstrations and training events
- Make sales calls on Somero customers and prospects within region under leadership and direction of the Territory Manager.
- Willing to assist with international sales, prototype testing, and field service activity
Job requirements and conditions
Individuals considered for this position will have a proven track record of sales and/or customer service leadership as well as extensive hands on understanding of concrete placing. Other requirements and FSPs characteristics:
- This is a travel job with as much as 70-80% travel necessary to perform the job well. FSPs must be able to plan and execute his own travel with ongoing consideration for operating within budget
- This is a field-oriented job. Candidates must be able to work carefully and safely on construction sites that are controlled and managed by customers and prospects
- Must be a good communicator, able to conduct effective training sessions, interface with business owners, and lead a concrete placement crew
- Must have the mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on small engines, hydraulics, and Laser equipment
- FSPs should be computer-savvy enough to communicate via e-mail and to record sales and service events in GoldMine.
- The FSPs must be able to understand technical and non-technical documents relating to operating, training, maintenance, and repair of the equipment
