Somero Receives Department Of Defense Certification

Houghton, MI - Somero Enterprises announces that the company has complied with all aspects of the United States Governments Quality Standard and, with this designation, has been awarded several contracts through Defense Contract Management. Somero's patented Laser Screed^® technology is now being used by the U.S. Military in areas around the world.

Major Doug Kiser with the U.S. Army was recently in Houghton to present the Defense Contract Management certificate.

In January of 2001, Somero Enterprises became ISO 9001 certified. The implementation of the Quality Management System at the production facility in Michigan makes Somero the recognized leader in the Concrete Construction Equipment Industry in terms of quality and customer satisfaction in the United States, Europe and around the world. By following it's Quality Management System, Somero continues to set the benchmark for quality in the industry. Somero's desire to continuously improve reached a milestone in July 2001 when the company became certified by the NSF-ISR under the ISO environmental standard or ISO 14001.

Somero has launched three new products since being certified with the ISO Standards. The company continues to put a high value on Continuous Improvement and the military recognition of their work is a milestone they are proud of.
